This past season for television was not my favorite. Maybe it was me but nothing grabbed even my favorites did not get me going. The proof? I currently have 10 episodes of Grimm, which I love, and another 10 episodes of The Following, season one totally rocked. I found myself going back to old shows that I used to watch when I was much younger. Again I might just be regressing but it brought to mind that some of those old shows should be brought back. I mean Hawaii 5-0 seems to be doing well. So here are my top five candidates for reboot.

5. The Fall Guy. I loved this show. It was simple premise, as were most of the greats from the 80’s. You have a stunt man who when he is not jumping off buildings he tracking down bail jumpers. This usually led to him helping out someone with a bigger problem and using a movie stunt to get the job done. I really think a reboot of this could do well. With the success of Dog the bounty hunter and the way we love high risk stunts this should really be a no brainer.

4. Airwolf. The usage of a super helicopter in international incidents and for the occasional personal mission would bring high action and drama back to the forefront. With our current world I think that this would fit right in. A plethora of international conflicts has us looking to solve problems related to dictators as well as the personal needs of those returning from war and the families of those who still serve. I think now more than ever Airwolf should fly again.

3. The Master. This was a take on the private investigator with a personal mission. A two man team, the master and his student, were continually searching for the master’s daughter. Along the way they, what else, helped others around them as they fought their own battles. Pretty standard fare for the eighties if my memory serves me correctly. I would even bring back a star from the eighties to head up this project. I bet Michael Dudikoff would so be interested in something like this.

2. B.J. and the Bear. Just an absolute favorite. Again you have a trucker who drives around the country helping small towns being oppressed by corrupt sheriffs or corporations that value profit above all else. I think it would be great to see all of America in a new light. Lots of wide sweeping driving shots and cool music underneath would round out this remake. Plus who doesn’t love a chimpanzee as a copilot. I am not holding my breath but would love to see this on the schedule next fall.

1. Magnum P.I. This is the reason for this list. I was watching a couple of episodes of this back to back and though this should really come back. I was never a huge fan of this show but I do enjoy it. Plus Hawaii 5-0 is already filming in Hawaii and I bet this show could also fill the need to escape to vacation land once a week. This show could have the perfect balance of drama and action and really, other than filming location, should not be too expensive to shoot.
